  1. Routine Playground Training Course
    Routine Playground Training Course
    This is a one day course is aimed at those who are responsible for undertaking routine (daily/weekly) visual playground inspections. Those completing this course will be eligible to take the RPII Level 1 Playground Inspectors accreditation for Routine Maintenance Inspectors. Syllabus ⎫ Child development ⎫ The Importance of Play ⎫ Accidents, their type, frequency and severity ⎫ Legislation, the appropriate Acts of Parliament and how they may affect the operator and directly the inspector ⎫ Provision recommendations for playgrounds, play value, Disability Assessment, etc. ⎫ NZS 5828:2015, SNZ HB 5828.1:2006 ⎫ Common faults on popular items ⎫ Practical on-site inspection ⎫ Documentation, reporting and importance of record keeping ⎫ A logical and systematic approach to inspecting including risk assessment ⎫ Routine inspection of approaches to playgrounds (including signs, traffic, road barriers, etc. ⎫ Routine inspection of the immediate playground surroundings such as the vegetation, fences and gates ⎫ Routine inspection of the active playground area within the fenced surround, i.e. seats, litter bins and other non play items ⎫ Routine inspection of specific play equipment or play features including surfacing
  2. Operational Playground Training Course
    Operational Playground Training Course
    This is a three day course is aimed at those who are responsible for undertaking operational (monthly to quarterly) playground inspections. Those completing this course will be eligible to take the RPII Level 2 Playground Inspectors accreditation for Operational Maintenance Inspectors.
